How do you become a jacap member?
Applications from eligible persons must be made in writing, signed by the applicant, or, in the case of a company, by an authorized representative.
What are the requirements?
Three (3) or more musical works (songs) that have been commercially recorded and released to the public
The works must have been, broadcast and/or transmitted by internet, TV, radio, included in cable programmming or on an audio/visual soundtrack
Proof of Commercial Release (such as):
- Online Distribution
- Commercial Products; eg. CDs, Vinyl, (proof of release)
Music in mp3 format (file should not exceed 20 MB) with metadata information of:
- Track Title
- Artist
- Composers/Authors
- ISRC #
- Label
- Genre
Valid picture ID
- Drivers license
- Passport
- National ID.
Copy of TRN
Two (2) passport size photo

Membership fee $2, 500.00
Fees may be processed via online application or sent in the mail along with the physical application form.
Publishers must have a catalogue of works of which at least 5 have been commercially published and/or commercially recorded.
- The works must have been commercially recorded, broadcast and transmitted by internet, TV or radio broadcasting station or included in cable programme or recorded on a sound track of a film which has been released for public exploitation.
- If a writer is not a member of any society, the Publisher should encourage said writers to join JACAP or a society of choice.
Prospective applicant must supply the works preferably in mp3 format which must have the following in support of the application:
- The title of the songs
- The performer’s artiste name
- The lyricist(s) birth/legal name
- The composer(s) birth/legal name
- The name of the recording label
NB. Failure to provide a properly labeled CD and/or relevant information will result in incomplete registration which will not be accepted.
Copies of all assignments/contracts between the applicant and the writers in respect of the works concerned must also be supplied.
Publisher member must show Documents of Incorporation and letter of good standing.
Prospective applicants must complete an application form; and all sections must be filled out and signed.
Prospective applicants must present a valid photo ID

The authorised person of the company must present 2 passport sized photos.

An application fee of $12,750.00 is required
