How it Started

Incorporated in 1998, the Jamaica Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers (JACAP) represents over 4000 local members.

JACAP is a non profit membership organization and we represent the interest of music composers, authors and publishers both at home and abroad.

Our Objectives

To own, manage and administer the Rights of and grant Licences for, the members’ works.

To collect and distribute the royalties and any other monies payable for the exercise of such rights.

To participate in public campaigns.

Lobbying local & international interest, including government, on behalf of our members.

Our focus

JACAP is the authoritative voice for Jamaican composers, authors and publishers working to raise the profile of our industry, advocating for copyright and the rights of our members, while providing information and access for all.
